BUDDY! is a student-run quarterly magazine here at the International School of Beijing (ISB)! Consider us your buddy in all the best, mentally-stimulating ways.

Why submit to Buddy!?
Buddy! is the best place to go to if you have awesome ideas you’ve never had the opportunity to share before, your next thesis, or even late-night POWER THOUGHTS you happened to write down. You can write with your own voice and about what you want! BUDDY! encourages conversations about niche topics (plus, it’s like super easy to submit).

What kind of content does BUDDY! accept?

Buddy! accepts all kinds of work! Topics are not limited to the ones seen now. In fact, some ideas could be: 

• Politics

• Concerns about the environment

• Virtually anything to do with Human Sciences

• History, Psychology, Economics etc.

• Science, Math, Art

• Contemplations about d̷̠̜̄e̶̞̚à̷̝t̷̘̿̏h̷̓

• Blobfish! Frogs!

(If you have a solid argument and a positive outlook on your topic, you are likely to get just about anything that you are passionate about published!)

How to submit?
For those that are looking for a no-strings-attached role, become a guest contributor by:

1. Emailing either Jacey Chen, Chelsey Wang, or Karen Han (we don’t bite, mostly)

For those looking for a little bit more, become a member of our staff by not only emailing but also:

1. Coming to our Dragon Time meetings during Day 1!

What happens after you submit?
One of the Moms here at Buddy! (Jacey, Karen, or Chelsey) takes you under their wing to work with you and get your piece published. After a laidback process of writing, receiving feedback, and revising, your brain-baby is ready to be released to the world! Proceed to kick back and watch your friends fawn over your piece.
