However, this same AI-generated artwork has essentially been stolen, with many image models being trained on the huge datasets that feature the fantastic artwork people have put their heart and soul into. In 2026, AI tools can take control and steal art in a matter of seconds. Understandably, that doesn’t sit right with a lot of passionate gamers.
It just doesn’t add much
Perhaps above all else, while AI might help developers with the game development process, it doesn’t really add much to the games in question. Many AI features don’t enhance the gameplay on offer; games aren’t actually more entertaining, and traditional systems tend to work best still.
